CBRE Investment Management Welcomes Jeffrey Selinger as Head of Residential for Americas Direct Real Estate Team

CBRE Investment Management today announced Jeffrey Selinger will be joining the firm September 1 as the Americas Direct Real Estate Head of Residential Operator Division.

In this role, Selinger will lead CBRE IM's residential transactions and asset management activities across the firm’s core, core-plus, value-add and development strategies in the U.S.

Selinger will be based at CBRE Investment Management’s 200 Park Avenue office in NYC and will partner with long-time senior members of the team, Ben Green, Head of Americas Direct Residential Acquisitions, and Maura Bilafer, Head of Americas Direct Residential Asset Management, along with the 20-person Americas Direct Residential Team. This high-performing team has invested in and operates a currently $8.1 billion portfolio representing more than 25,000 units, including traditional multifamily assets as well as alternative sectors such as student housing, single-family-for-rent and manufactured housing.

Selinger, who began his career in 2004 in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, joins us from JSB Capital Group, which transitioned from GMF Capital, where he served as Chief Investment Officer. As a senior leader, he has managed the full breadth of the real estate lifecycle—including market selection, sourcing, asset management, financing and disposition—across equity and credit investments. Over the past nine years, the JSB team has executed more than $10 billion in investments, including the acquisition of over 40,000 apartment units. Additionally, he has spearheaded various corporate and business development efforts and led strategic initiatives to introduce technology platforms to enhance operational efficiency. Prior to that, Selinger was Managing Director of Acquisitions at Vanbarton Group.

Selinger earned a Master of Business Administration degree in real estate and finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
