Laura Dunn has joined CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) as Head of the Commercial Operator Division for Americas Direct Real Estate. In this role, she will be responsible for the Transactions and Asset Management teams covering retail, office, life science, self-storage and medical office across the United States.
Dunn, who has 20 years of industry experience, joins from Spear Street Capital—an owner, operator and developer of Class A office assets across the U.S. and Canada—where she most recently served as Managing Director. As a senior leader of the firm, Dunn worked across acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing, as well as directing strategic asset-level initiatives for the owned portfolio. During her tenure at Spear Street, Dunn worked across most major U.S. markets, with a specific focus on sourcing and executing on value-add investments in the New York and Southeast regions. Dunn began her career at UBS within the real estate finance group.
Colin Rosenbaum has been promoted to Head of Americas Direct Commercial Transactions. In this newly created role, he will lead commercial investment activity across the United States for the firm’s core, enhanced return and separate account strategies. Rosenbaum joined CBRE Investment Management in 2022 as a Senior Director for Commercial Acquisitions. Prior to CBRE IM, Rosenbaum held leadership roles at Regent Properties and Parkway Properties, bringing 18 years of experience in institutional real estate investment management and development across multiple sectors and risk profiles.
"We are pleased to welcome Laura to the CBRE Investment Management team and to elevate Colin into this new leadership role,” said Julie Ingersoll, Chief Investment Officer, Americas Direct Real Estate Strategies. “Our commercial platform is strategically critical to the Americas Direct business, as this sector represents one of our largest portfolios with 165 assets in 48 markets. We are actively deploying significant capital across the commercial sectors, with a near-term focus on retail, self-storage and medical office.”
“As a highly accomplished investor with deep transactional expertise and strong operating capabilities, Laura is exceptionally well suited for her new role. We look forward to leveraging her market relationships and experience across the full asset life cycle. And Colin has been an integral member of the commercial transactions team and has demonstrated an ability to lead complex transactions across a range of execution formats including single-asset acquisitions, large portfolios, Opco investments and take privates. He is ideally positioned to drive future investments across our commercial platform,” Ingersoll added.
“I am thrilled to be joining a team of talented leaders across the various CBRE IM sectors,” Dunn said. “The opportunity to contribute to CBRE IM’s strategic growth and expand the firm’s investment and operational capabilities in the commercial sector comes at an exciting point in the cycle, as historic repricing unfolds and user demand continues to recover.”
Dunn earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
Both will be based in CBRE IM’s New York City office.
