CBRE Investment Management Expands Private Infrastructure Strategy Team into APAC with Appointment of Vaughan Wallace

Vaughan Wallace has joined CBRE Investment Management as Managing Director, Private Infrastructure Strategies. In this role he will be responsible for managing and directing the investment process in the APAC region for investing in infrastructure assets and companies on behalf of our flagship strategy and other direct strategies.
CBRE Investment Management’s Private Infrastructure Strategy currently has teams in Toronto and London. Wallace, who joined CBRE Investment Management October 21, will be based in Sydney and report to Stephen Dowd, CIO Private Infrastructure Strategies.
“This is a significant hire for CBRE Investment Management as we expand the global team and strategy into Australia,” Dowd said. “Adding a senior leader like Vaughan in Australia increases our capacity to cover important APAC markets and the clients we serve in the region.”
Wallace will work with CBRE Investment Management's direct infrastructure investments business leading direct infrastructure investments in the region.
“Over the past 25 years, Vaughan has been responsible for the development and long-term management of projects across the infrastructure spectrum including digital, transport, social infrastructure and energy sectors. While predominately focused on the Australian and New Zealand markets, Vaughan's experience also includes investments in Europe and Asia,” Dowd continued. “Vaughan will bring that experience to CBRE Investment Management as he assumes a leading role in sourcing, diligence, closing and managing global infrastructure investments in the Asia Pacific region. He will work closely with our Client Solutions team raising capital and managing client relationships regionally.”
Prior to joining CBRE Investment Management, Wallace spent more than three years at Amber Infrastructure Limited, where he was responsible for leading Amber's infrastructure investment business in the Asia Pacific region.
Earlier in his career, Wallace was Head of Origination at Capella Capital and held senior roles at Babcock & Brown and ABN AMRO in both London and Sydney.

Wallace earned a Bachelor of Business degree from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
