CBRE Investment Management (“CBRE IM”) has appointed George Crone as Sustainability Lead for UK Direct Investments.

George will support asset and portfolio managers in the UK in accelerating the delivery of CBRE IM’s Sustainability Vision and Zero Emission Building Roadmap. A key part of his role will be leading CBRE IM’s engagement with UK based investors and occupiers.

George will report to Robbie Epsom, EMEA Head of Sustainability, in this newly created position that further expands the Sustainability team, which is led by Global Head of Sustainability & Innovation, Helen Gurfel.

Joining from CBRE Advisory where he has consulted to CBRE IM portfolios since 2018, George brings a depth of existing knowledge of our UK AUM and stakeholders in their management. As such he will hit the ground running in the UK while drawing on his 11 years of sustainability experience to provide technical support and resilience to sustainability colleagues and ambassadors in Continental Europe and Indirect Investments.

Robbie said: “At CBRE IM our focus on sustainability is fundamental to mitigating risk, creating value, maximizing long-term investment returns and helping to preserve our planet for future generations. We are thrilled that George has joined the investment management team, where using his already extensive knowledge of our portfolio and occupiers he will help accelerate our ambition to deliver net-zero carbon performance and physical resilience across our assets.”

George added: “With investor pressure on returns and the delivery of sustainability, particularly zero emission buildings, now is a challenging but exciting time to join the Investment Management business. I look forward to supporting and guiding our team of managers as they deliver on CBRE IM’s Sustainability Vision.”
