Professional Experience

Tetsuya Fujita is the Country Head for Japan. Based in Tokyo, he is responsible for the management and oversight of the Firm’s business in Japan.

Tetsuya began his career in the real estate industry in 1984. He started his career at Sumitomo Realty & Development K.K. and spent five years in residential condominium development in Japan and over 13 years in the U.S. overseeing Sumitomo Realty’s U.S. operations which included asset management of office, retail and hotel properties throughout the country on behalf of Sumitomo and third party Japanese clients.

In 2002, he joined CB Richard Ellis Investors K.K. as the Managing Director of asset management where he led and established a residential J-REIT specialized in urban Class-A residential properties.

In 2007, he joined its sponsor company, K.K. New City Corporation and ran the private real estate merchant banking and investment management company as President. Tetsuya re-joined CBRE Investment Management in 2009.

Tetsuya has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. He is a member of Executive Committee of ULI Japan and a Fellow of RICS. He is fluent in English and Japanese.
