Professional Experience
Taketoshi Kawakami is the Head of Investment for Japan. Based in Tokyo, he is responsible for the firm’s acquisitions activities including sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, financing and execution of investment opportunities in Japan.
Taketoshi joined CBRE Investment Management (then ING Real Estate Investment Management) in 2007. He began his career in the real estate industry in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Taketoshi worked for LaSalle Investment Management K.K. and had responsibilities in asset management and disposition with an aggregate transaction volume of over JPY200 billion across more than 80 residential assets.
Taketoshi holds a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and a Master in Urban Planning from the University of Washington. He also holds a certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the University of Washington. He is fluent in English and Japanese.
