Professional Experience

Marius Schöner is Head of EMEA Residential Operator Division for CBRE Investment Management.

Prior to joining CBRE Investment Management in 2014, Marius spent the previous eight years as the Country Manager for Germany for Macquarie Global Property Advisors (MGPA) and was responsible for building and managing their German real estate business. In 2013, MGPA was acquired by BlackRock, where Marius was responsible for leading BlackRock’s German and Polish real estate business and for integrating MGPA’s operations with the new organization.

Before joining BlackRock, Marius held senior positions at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for building and managing a pan-European portfolio as part of the German open-end fund strategy and also at Deka Immobilien, where he was responsible for investment activities in both Southern and Eastern Europe.

Marius began his career in the real estate industry in 1995. He earned a Master in Business Administration degree (Diplom. Betriebswirt) from the European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel with a focus on finance and real estate as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Diplomkaufmann) from the Open University of Hagen with a focus on HR and strategic planning.
