Professional Experience
James Cooper is the Global Head of Analytics Engineering & AI at CBRE Investment Management, based in Boston. In this role, James is responsible for leading the firm's analytics initiatives and AI strategies, focusing on portfolio optimization, factor analysis, and data science to drive investment performance and operational efficiency.
Prior to his current position, James served as Director of Quantitative Research at CBRE, where he honed his expertise in alpha signal research, data analytics, and visualization. His earlier experience includes a role as a Business Systems Analyst, where he managed system implementations and workflow requirements for order management, ensuring seamless integration across multiple trading and compliance systems.
Before joining CBRE, James worked as a Business Consultant at Eze Software Group, where he led projects for hedge funds, enhancing their trading, analytics, and compliance capabilities. He began his career at Eze as a Support Analyst, where he gained in-depth knowledge of the Eze product suite and developed strong technical skills in SQL and FIX connectivity.
James holds a degree in Information Technology Management for Business from the University of the West of England, where he graduated with first-class honors. His dissertation focused on the commercial application of quantum computing, showcasing his commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology in the financial sector.
