Professional Experience
Bas Tiemstra is Head of Continental Europe Direct Real Estate Strategies for CBRE Investment Management. In this role, Bas leads and oversees investment strategy and portfolio management across all Continental Europe direct real estate solutions, including global inbound capital separate account mandates, and oversees several regional funds.
Bas joined CBRE Investment Management 2015 as Head of Asset Management Retail EMEA. In 2016, he became EMEA Head of Investment Operations with overall responsibility for the EMEA investment operations, including asset management for all sectors, with a focus on standardizing best practices and driving investment performance at asset level.
In 2017, Bas became EMEA Head of Separate Accounts, overseeing a team of 30+ investment professionals working on 16 client portfolios and several regional funds and club deals.
Prior to CBRE Investment Management, Bas held senior roles at ASR Real Estate Investment Management, including Managing Director Commercial Real Estate and Fund Director for the ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund. He also served as Managing Director at PRN Real Estate Development and spent six years at Achmea Real Estate as Asset Manager and Portfolio Manager.
Bas holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam and a Master of Real Estate degree from the Amsterdam School of Real Estate - University of Amsterdam. He is also a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
