Professional Experience
Alex Bignell is Head of Transactions Management, Indirect Private Real Estate for CBRE Investment Management. Based in London, Alex reviews investment opportunities and is Co-Chair of the Investment Committee and Global Investment Team. Alex also chairs the IC Subcommittee, that reviews due diligence prior to deal execution, and the Investment Oversight Committee, which reviews existing investments. Alex was previously Region Head of UK. He is a director of CBRE Investment Management Indirect Limited, the UK and SEC regulated entity.
Alex joined CBRE Investment Management in 2012. Immediately prior to joining, he was Fund Manager of Goodman European Logistics Fund. Before Goodman, Alex was a Director at Credit Suisse real estate investment banking and a Director at Jones Lang LaSalle Corporate Finance.
After qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 1995, Alex was an analyst at Cazenove and an associate at Morgan Stanley real estate investment banking. He has a range of experience spanning direct, indirect and listed real estate across both advisory and principal roles. Alex began his real estate career in 1994.
Alex earned a degree in Land Economy from Cambridge University. Alex is a Senior Manager under the FCA’s Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) and holds the SMF3.
