Shane Taylor has been appointed as Head of Americas Research for CBRE Investment Management. Taylor, who also serves as Head of APAC Research for the firm, will hold a dual leadership role for both regions.

Taylor joined CBRE Investment Management in 2006. Prior to joining the firm, he spent three years as a researcher with the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute in Brisbane, Australia, before joining RP Data-Marketshare, a real estate consultancy based in Sydney.

Over the past decade, Taylor has built and managed CBRE Investment Management’s APAC Research Team and, under his direction, the team’s in-depth and timely research insight has driven significant business results for the firm. The APAC Research team has consistently provided responsive transaction support and value to the company’s leadership and clients for the APAC region. Taylor spent 12 years based in Hong Kong, during which time he became a respected thought leader and a trusted advisor to global capital sources targeting the region for investment. He will now be based in New York.

“Shane’s superb track record of building and managing high-performance research teams will be key as we continue to build our reach across the U.S. real assets investment landscape,” said Sabina Reeves, Chief Economist and Head of Insights & Intelligence for CBRE Investment Management. “His depth of experience, keen understanding of market dynamics and sharp analytic skills will help to promote a stronger collaborative culture with exceptional data-driven results across our Direct, Indirect and Listed Investment businesses.”

Taylor holds a B.A. (Hons) from Queensland University, an M.App.Sc in Economic Geography from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, as well as a Ph.D in Urban Planning from Columbia University. Taylor has also consulted for the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the Earth Institute. He was also the recipient of an ICSC award for outstanding service to the research community.
