CBRE Investment Management has bolstered its UK Research Team with the appointment of Dominic Smith as a Senior Director, Credit Research.

Dominic joins CBRE Investment Management from CBRE, where he was initially focused on setting up the Debt Analytics service, before moving to the UK Research Team, where he was responsible for output relating to the Capital Advisors and Valuations businesses. He brings with him 20 years of commercial real estate experience, having previously spent time as Strategy Director of the Real Estate Business Support Unit of Lloyds Bank, and as Head of Research at Aviva Investors.

As a Senior Director on CBRE Investment Management’s Research Team, Dominic will specialise in global credit research, including helping to drive forward CBRE Investment Management’s Real Assets Credit Convictions Framework (CCF), a proprietary tool designed to provide a clear way of measuring risks and opportunities within real estate credit.

The appointment highlights the strengthening of CBRE Investment Management’s Research Team, following the appointment of Tania Tsoneva to lead global infrastructure research towards the end of last year.

David Inskip, UK Head of Research at CBRE Investment Management said: “We are excited to welcome Dominic to our Team. He is one of the most well regarded credit researchers in the industry and a fantastic addition to our credit platform. 2022 will be an exciting year for CBRE Investment Management: our Credit Convictions Framework is a valuable tool that will help inform our views and give context to investors for our strategy, as well as enabling them to understand where trade-offs between risk, return and opportunity occur, and we see Dominic’s appointment as the next step in realising our ambition to become the leading investment house for credit research.”
