CBRE Global Investors Expands Infrastructure Team With Hiring of Dominic Garcia

Dominic Garcia has joined CBRE Global Investors as Chief Pension Investment Strategist. This is a new role focused on developing solutions for pension funds looking to expand their investments in infrastructure.
Garcia, who has 16 years’ experience in the investment and pension industry, joins CBRE Global Investors from the Public Employees Retirement System of New Mexico, where he has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2017. In that role, Garcia worked with stakeholders on enhancing plan sustainability, established a risk budget and delegation of investment authority to staff, and created a risk-based approach to portfolio management. Prior to his role at New Mexico, Garcia served on the Investment Committee and was a Senior Funds Alpha Manager for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board.

Garcia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Public Policy degree in Public Finance from the University of Chicago. An industry-respected thought leader and speaker on pension portfolio construction, governance and sustainability, Garcia serves on multiple research and advisory boards and has garnered various industry awards.
