Jeremy Plummer

Global Chief Investment Officer

Jeremy Plummer is Global Chief Investment Officer for CBRE Investment Management. Jeremy co-chairs the firm’s Global Investment Committee and oversees the Global Real Assets Investments group, which is responsible for investment strategy, portfolio management, analytics and performance measurement for more than $13 billion in capital investment. In addition, he partners with the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and leadership team on enterprise-level investment initiatives.

The great-grandson of an engineer who built the Panama Canal, Jeremy is fascinated by the ‘art and science’ of building something from the ground up—be it investment programs, companies or talented teams. With experience as both an investor and operator, Jeremy and his team of talented, strategy-specific CIOs are passionate about identifying emerging structural trends before they become mainstream, and positioning portfolios to deliver returns for clients.

Jeremy’s leadership style is multidimensional, characterized by a forward-thinking, pioneering mindset based by three decades of experience across global geographies, asset classes, property sectors and deal structures. He began his real estate career in 1988 and has served in an international capacity since. He was appointed Global CIO in 2018, and before that served as CEO of CBRE Investment Management’s EMEA direct real estate business.

He joined CBRE Investment Management in 2006 after the company acquired Oxford Property Consultants (OPC), the firm he co-founded. He established the Global Indirect Real Estate division (formerly Global Investment Partners) and led it to become a premier provider of global indirect investment solutions. Before OPC, Jeremy was European Managing Director at Security Capital Group Inc., a U.S. private equity real estate group; and Head of Real Estate for SPP (now Alecta), where his team was responsible for a $3 billion direct and indirect property portfolio in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

Jeremy earned a Master’s degree in Agricultural and Forest Science from Oxford University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
